Board Backs Castaic Vote

The Signal reported here that the “Hart district board members said Tuesday that they did not go back on their word when they voted last week to send incoming Castaic freshmen to Valencia High School for the next two years.”

In a 2003 district boundary recommendation, adopted by board members, the Hart district intended on assigning the “majority” of Castaic students to West Ranch High School until a new high school could be built in Castaic.

This new vote would send some kids from the same families to different schools, which has many Castaic parents fuming. Castaic parents and school administrators will meet Thursday morning discuss what’s next. For the entire news article visit the Los Angeles Daily News or the Signal.
