Landmark Village
January 11, 2008 |
Everyone hates the idea of the proposed Los Lomas community…is Newhall Lands Landmark Village destined to be the same?
The final Environmental Impact Report for Landmark Village has been approved by the County Regional Planning Commission, despite protests and testimony from local environmentalists and residents.
At issue, watershed, water usage and do we have enough resources to handle another 21,000 homes coming into the area.
That’s right Twenty One Thousand Homes at build-out the project is expected to have at least that many houses.
Can Santa Clarita and for that matter our neighbors, Fillmore, Santa Paula and Ventura handle that many homes? and at what cost to the ecostructure. The Santa Clara River and the Santa Susanna Mountains, both sensitive eco areas. In fact the Santa Clara River was put on the nations ten most dangered waterway list in 2005.
The following map shows the area of the proposed City of Nehwall Ranch.
