Horse town to get 315 houses
Planners OK 247 additional homes
03/21/2007
The Regional Planning Commission passed a unanimous vote for 315 ranch homes to be built in Aqua dulce.
The developer;B&C Land and Water has had the project on hold for about 5 years awaiting approval.
The homes will be loacted between Sierra Highway and the Anteleop Valley Freeway.
Proposed on 2 acre lots, the project will include a water reclamation plant and import water from a pipeline, so it will not deplete groundwater sources. Jodie Sackett a planner within the department is quoted as saying that “It’s a real benefit for the project, and it’s probably one of the reasons the commission voted unanimously for it,”Â
73 percent of the project will be open space, including some large hills, Sackett said.
A slightly larger version of the project was approved in 1994, but that project was delayed because the developer was waiting for a reclamation plant to be built in the area as part of another project.
Now, the developer has eliminated 24 lots from the project to build the tract’s own water reclamation plant, which will provide water for lawns and landscaping.
Final approvals on the 908-acre project will take a year, and after that, homes will be built in stages to meet market demand, Bushore said.

I DIDNT VOTE….THATS GREAT. MORE HOMES. ISNT THAT WE NEEDED?
Melody,
This project has been on the books since 1994. Don’t you agree that by the developer putting aside 73% of the project for open space is a far better than what many of the developers have done thus far in SCV? (BTW, I am NOT a developer)
