September 26, 2007 |

The Santa Clarita Street Art Festival is returning to downtown Newhall for its third year.

The free, two-day event will be held next weekend on San Fernando Road, between Lyons Avenue and Fifth Street.

It will feature live entertainment, international dance performances, live music, fine arts and crafts, hands-on activities and street painting.

The festival will span five blocks and each one will have a specific focus.

The music block will be located between 5th and 6th streets. Saturday’s lineup includes bluegrass, blues, classic rock and California rumba. Sunday’s schedule includes reggae, new wave, rock and zydeco.

The street painting will occur between 6th and Market streets. Professional and amateur street painters start painting on Friday and will display their art throughout the weekend. In the past, the street painting took place at the Farmer’s Market parking lot on 6th Street and San Fernando Road.
