Newhall Hardware Calls It Quits
January 30, 2008 |
Newhall Hardware an area icon for sixty years is closing.
Citing low sales and the competion of the big box retalers, store onwer Victor Feany made the decision to close.
The liquidation sale brought long time patrons to the store for old times sake with wishes of good will for the store owner.
Feany started working at the store 33 years ago and bought the store from the original owner in 1999.
This closing comes on the heels of another business, The Antique Flower Garden closing last month. The florist was doing business in the old Newhall jail, an original relic of days gone by built in 1906.
