Single Family Housing Starts Decline 7.3 Percent

Single-family home construction starts in October fell 7.3 percent to 884,000 units compared with 954,000 units in September, according to the latest data from the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development.  Single-family units authorized by permits in October were at 807,000, an 8 percent slide from September at 877,000 units.
